Send us a suspicious message

Did you get a text, an email or a social media message that looks like a scam or manipulation? Send it to us. Real messages show others what these tricks look like in practice.

What happens to your message

  1. The author of ThinkCritical reads it. Nobody else sees the original.
  2. If you agree, we may show an edited version without personal details in the Manipulation Atlas or in a post. Names, numbers and links are blacked out.
  3. We delete the original (text, screenshot, note and email) once it has been processed, within 90 days at the latest.

Before you send it

  • Do not send passwords, PINs, codes from texts, card numbers or ID numbers.
  • Do not send other people’s details. If they are in the message, that’s fine – we black them out before publishing.
  • Don’t click links in the message. Just copy the text or take a screenshot.
Where did you get the message? (required)

Paste the text, attach a screenshot, or both.

Copy and paste the whole text. For a phone call, write what the caller said.

0 of 3,000 characters

One PNG, JPEG or WebP image, up to 3 MB. We remove location and device details from it when we receive it.

For example, what happened next or why the message seemed odd.

Only if we may write to you with a question about the message. We delete it once the message has been processed.

Confirmation and consent

Without consent we only read the message as background and never publish it. You can withdraw consent at any time by email.
